The following is Karen’s dad’s obituary.
Chris U. Hochstetler
March 6, 1931-Dec. 4, 2009
Chris U. Hochstetler, 78, 2038 Dedham Court, Goshen, formerly of Middlebury, died Friday at 12:03 p.m. at his residence. He had been in declining health, yet his death was unexpected.

He was born March 6, 1931, in LaGrange County, to Urias and Anna (Miller) Hochstetler. They preceded him in death.

On Dec. 11, 1955, he married Edna Mae Troyer at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury. She survives.

Chris worked as a purchasing agent from 1966 to 1998 at Syndicate Systems in Middlebury. He was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Middlebury, for 52 years and was very active as a sound technician and Sunday school teacher. He had been a member of the Crystal Valley Exchange Club and was a past vice president of the Middlebury Community Historical Museum. Chris was an avid learner and loved to keep up with the latest technology.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Edna Mae Hochstetler, are a daughter, Karen (Tom) Yoder, Harrisonburg, Va.; a son, Devon Hochstetler, Goshen; five grandchildren, Tiffany Williams, Trina Hochstetler, Landon Yoder, Jonathan Yoder and Evan Yoder; a stepgranddaughter, Tammy Nickoson; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Katie (Daniel) Beachy, Kenton, Ohio, and Edna Mae Hostetler, Wolcottville; and a brother, Amos Hochstetler, Kenton, Ohio.

Friends may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home, Middlebury.

Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First Mennonite Church, Middlebury, and will be conducted by the Revs. Linfold Martin and Pamela Yoder.

Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery, Middlebury.

Memorials may be given to the Indiana Multiple Sclerosis Society.
